We have the pleasure to announce that Turku2011 – European Capital of Culture wants to support MindTrek, the major new media event in the Nordic Countries, by granting one of its Live2011.com Grand Prix Event Awards during the MindTrek conference.

Turku 2011 foundation will give a 1000 € award for an entry which is participating to one of the MindTrek award categories and fits to profile of Turku 2011’s Live2011.com Grand Prix.

The Apps for Democracy Finland '09 contest gathered 23 high quality submissions out of which 12 are working prototypes in the implementation category and 11 participate solely in the idea category. Unfortunately there was no submission that would fit in the Library category.

The Jury has chosen finalists out of which the winners will be awarded next on Thursday 1st of October at Tampere....

The purpose of the competition was to encourage makers of digital media to generate ideas and develop new and innovative ubimedia products & services. Ubimedia means technology that is embedded in its surroundings. The word “Ubi” comes from the Latin word “ubicue” which means “everywhere”. The competition was open to all kinds of artists, practitioners, and industries and the total prize sum is 7.000 Euros.
