Tristan Nitot is the founder and President of Mozilla Europe, the international affiliate of the Mozilla Foundation, home of the Firefox Web browser. At MindTrek Tristan will discuss what governments, businesses, and individuals can do, both today and tomorrow, to ensure the Internet develops in a way which benefits everyone. Additionally, he will tackle why it’s critical the Web should remain an open, accessible and global public resource.

Valerie Massey on online democracy - stellar example

Valerie Massey, Senior Director of Public Relations and Communication at CCP Games, is one of the MindTrek conference keyminds. Valerie is going to tell you how CCP's innovative implementation of a democratically-elected group of player advocates (the Council of Stellar Management) has created what the New York Times dubbed "a watershed in the evolution of online democracy".

Accepted academic papers

The streering committee of the call for papers has selected the academic papers that will be presented in the MindTrek conference.

See the list of Accepted Academic Papers here.

All paper submissions have to be prepared in the ACM proceedings style to be integrated into the ACM digital library. The final paper version has to be 5 pages long. The deadline for paper submission is the 29th August 2008. More information here.
