Locations and venues
This year the events will take place in two different locations and venues in the beautiful city of Tampere, Finland.
The Mindtrek Conference will take place in Finnkino Cine Atlas (Koskikeskus). The conference week will continue with the Academic Mindtrek which will be organized as a hybrid event, both online and in Paidia Living Lab of Play (Nokia Arena).
Mindtrek Conference – Finnkino Cine Atlas
The Mindtrek Conference will be organized on the 8th of October 2024 in Finnkino Cine Atlas (Koskikeskus), in Tampere.
Finnkino’s Cine Atlas is a movie theather, which is situated in the city centre of Tampere, on the ground floor in Koskikeskus shopping centre. Cine Atlas offers atmospheric settings for a movie visit or in our case a tech conference!
Finnkino Cine Atlas has four cinema auditoriums with 585 seats all together.
The extremely comfy chairs of the cinema auditoriums will challenge our speakers to keep their speeches even more interesting as before!

Arriving to Finnkino Cine Atlas
How to get there?
Finnkino Cine Atlas is located inside the Koskikeskus shopping center. Please find a few helpful hints on how to arrive to the event venue below:
Arriving from Hatanpään Valtatie: From the entrance head towards the 1st floor (a few steps down from the lobby area). Turn right to the hallway next to Intersport. At the end of the hallway, please take the escalators down to Finnkino Cine Atlas.
You are also able to enter Finnkino Cine Atlas directly from the riverside entrance to Koskikeskus located next to the restaurant & bar Ranta.
Arriving from the parking hall in Koskikeskus: Take the escalators or the elevator to the 1st floor. Head across the main square in the direction of the Ilves Hotel. Turn left next to Intersport. At the end of the hallway, please take the escalators down to Finnkino Cine Atlas.
Parking
If you arrive by car, you can leave your vehicle at P-Koskikeskus, a heated parking facility. The facility is accessed from Suvantokatu. There is a fee charged for parking at P-Koskikeskus.
You do not need a ticket or receipt to park at P-Koskikeskus. The system uses automated number-plate recognition to register when you entered the parking facility. You can choose from two payment options.
Koskikeskus supports the easy-to-use Moovy parking app. If you have the app installed, you can simply enter and leave without stopping at the payment machines. The parking fee is charged later to the credit or debit card you have connected with the app. The app can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
Public transportation
Tampere bus station is located right next to Koskikeskus. Also Koskikeskus is easily accessible by foot from the Tampere railway station (max 10 minutes).
There are also many bus and tram stops near Koskikeskus. Details of schedules and routes can be found through the trip planner Repa Reittiopas.
Academic Mindtrek – Paidia Living Lab of Play (Nokia Arena)
The 27th International Academic Mindtrek conference will take place between the 8th and 11th October 2024 both online and in Paidia Living Lab of Play (Nokia Arena), in Tampere.
Paidia is Tampere universities’ common, open space, where different events, education, research, collaboration and student activities can be held. The space is located in the Nokia Arena. which is near University’s City centre campus. Paidia space and its modern technology enable science and research to be presented to also new audiences.
You can find route to Paidia via Nokia Arena main A-doors, then go through the gates on your left and via escalators to 3.floor.
